Job description

The position of AML Risk Assessment Officer is directly responsible for managing and updating of the Enterprise-wide BSA/AML and OFAC Risk Assessments by developing, recommending, formulating, and administering risk assessment based on the Banks overall policies and procedures. Obtains data elements from a variety of Bank data sources to analyze risk associated with customer base, transactions, products, services, and geographical locations. Interprets policies and procedures to determine if risk is addressed within risk assessment process. Assists with analyzing risk associated with new or existing products, services, or bank acquisitions. Assists with coordinating Financial Crimes Compliance with internal and external audits/regulatory exams. Prepares program metrics for ongoing Board and management reporting.
Assists the AML Program Manager with distribution of BSA related information obtained from several sources including, but not limited to manuals, policies, Internet, auditors, trade associations and training seminars to give direction on implementing all BSA/USA Patriot Act/AML/OFAC policy and procedures.
Assures compliance with all Bank policies and procedures, as well as, all applicable state and federal banking regulations. Able to maintain a strict level of confidentiality.
Responsible for managing and updating of the Enterprise-wide BSA/AML and OFAC Risk Assessments. Ensures compliance with bank policy and regulatory requirements and also maintains a strict level of confidentiality.
Conducts individual risk assessments for new or existing products or services with the ability to determine risks associated with analysis.
Maintain and enhance an enterprise-wide BSA/AML/OFAC risk management framework that incorporates risk assessment, control design, training, monitoring, testing, and reporting of BSA/AML/OFAC matters. Develops and maintains accurate data and information. Ability to interpret trends and analyze data to properly assess risk profile; including but not limited product, transactional, geographic trends.
Address complex problems and critical issues escalated from various teams, and effectively utilizing robust decision-making ability toward appropriate resolution.
Evaluates and develops material for CBT and specialized training program. Will work with Training Department group to review existing material and create new material as needed.
Develops and maintains corporate governance processes and procedures to ensure controls are in place to track and maintain systems integrity and segregation of duties.
  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university or High school diploma and 7 or more years of related experience. Or a high school diploma and 10 or more years of related experience, education and/or training.
  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of overall banking, bank products and services, risk assessment process, CTRs, SARs, OFAC, MIRs, and High Risk Accounts.
  • Advanced experience in quantitative analysis with an emphasis in Data Management.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, and technical procedures.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Products emphasis on Excel.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Products emphasis on Excel and translating them into SAS/Tab
  • Superior writing, analytical and communication skills.
  • Preferred BSA Certification and Microsoft Excel Certification
  • Ability to Travel - (other divisions, conference, off-site training seminars) occasionally.
