Senior SEO Strategist - Progressive.com As a Senior SEO Strategist on Progressive’s Digital Acquisition Experience team, you will leverage your skills as part of a team that is relentlessly focused on delivering innovative digital experiences for our customers and prospects. Supporting Progressive.com, the Senior SEO Strategist will play a lead role across various dimensions of the SEO and Content Strategy for Progressive’s multi-billion-dollar e-commerce platform -- consistently rated as the best website in the insurance industry. The ideal candidate must be able to demonstrate how they’ve solved SEO challenges through the application of a cross-functional (technical, on-site and off-site) approach to optimization. Excellent organizational and communication skills a must. Financial services experience considered a plus. Essential Responsibilities Include:
Drive tactical execution of Progressive’s SEO roadmap, including performing site audits and developing recommendations related to technical accessibility, on site content, and authority
Execute keyword research, density analysis, reporting and external relationship development
Support the overarching Progresive.com Content Strategy, including research, review and analysis of deployed experiences
Support the SEO team, including but not limited to SEO vendor, Agency and internal stakeholder relationship management
Collaborate with other groups across the organization (PR, Social, Brand Marketing, Paid Media, IT, etc.) to improve SEO performance and support overall customer acquisition objectives
Leverage 1st and 3rd party data to improve our ability to assess, value and prioritize search initiatives
Manage Local SEO program execution (including vendor management, strategies, and tools)
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
Bachelor's degree
3-5 years’ experience delivering projects for digital user experiences for medium to large sized web sites designed for one or more user groups
Solid MS Office tools and HTML coding skills with the ability to solve real-world business problems with technology as an enabler
Strong communication, written and verbal, and presentation skills
Preferred Skills:
5+ years’ experience in prior roles in (or directly related) to SEO, demonstrating progressive growth in job responsibilities
History of supporting enterprise level SEO campaigns / client accounts; Agency and/or Fortune 500 client experience strongly recommended
Advanced knowledge of SEO algorithmic ranking factors (information architecture, backlink analysis, SEO Meta elements, structured data, server-side, etc.)
Ability to draw critical analysis from data sources and make specific recommendations
Demonstrated knowledge of the Paid, Owned and Earned Media landscape (PPC, Display Media, Affiliates, Social, PR, Native, etc.) and how various integration points impact SEO performance, optimization strategy, and reporting
Strong understanding of technical SEO, strategies (Status Code Review, Canonicalization, Generation of Sitemaps, Site Crawl, etc.) and tools (Screaming Frog, etc.), including experience migrating platforms and/or domains
Demonstrated understanding of SEO tooling/vendors (e.g., Google Search Console, Moz, SEMRush, BrightEdge, Conductor, etc.)
Knowledge of HTML, XML, CSS, JavaScript and Site Markup (rich snippets, schema.org, RDFa, etc.) with the ability to understand source code easily
Deep functional experience with at least one major web analytics platform (e.g. Google Analytics, Coremetrics, SiteCatalyst, Webtrends, etc.)
Proficiency in modern web design principles, including User Experience (UX) and Conversion Optimization (CRO/CXO) best practices
