Information Systems Security Officer (LINUX/Windows)

Job description

Bachelor's degree in a related specialized area or equivalent is required plus a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 0 years of relevant experience.
  • Applicants must meet DoD 8570.1 certification requirements for IAT-II or higher
Clearance Requirements
Department of Defense TS/SCI security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for an Information System Security Officer for LINUX and Windows. This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation’s core defense/intelligence services and systems. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.
He/she Will
The Information System Security Officer will be a working member of the overall ISSO team providing Cross Domain Security Engineering services.
  • Review, analyze, investigate Windows and Linux audits
  • Set-up, maintain, archive Windows and Linux accounts
  • Use LINUX command-line level activities to configure, troubleshoot, analyze and navigate system level actions
  • Use built-in Windows security applications to configure, troubleshoot, analyze and navigate system level actions
  • Assign access level and or privileges based on user’s need to know
  • Enforce Enterprise level established security policies
  • Validate Cross Domain profiles against site security levels of processing
  • Participate, as required, in National level accreditation activities
  • Develop system security policies and procedures
  • Create Insider Threat reports showing statistical privileged use data
  • Generate incident reporting documentation
The Successful Information System Security Officer Must Have
  • Hands on experience with command line UNIX/LINUX security audits and Windows audits
  • Experience working with DoD classified IT system security configuration and processes
  • Working technical knowledge of UNIX/LINUX and windows operating systems commands and utilities
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience in government IT security standards, policies and directives
  • Proficiency in Windows and UNIX/LINUX audit analysis
  • Help Desk experience
  • Microsoft Office Application experience
