Allied Universal Services is currently searching for a Professional Security Officer.
Although Essential Activities May Differ Based On The Facility At Which They Work, Below Are Some Of The Standards
The Professional Security Officer is the heart of Allied Universal Services. The Professional Security Officer is responsible for the safety and security of the facilities they protect. Our security officers act as a visible deterrent to crime and client rule infractions; they detect and report suspicious, unsafe or criminal acts at or near their assigned posts which may be a threat to the property, clients, guests or employees at the site.
  • Ensure the facility is provided with high quality security services to protect people and property
  • Report safety concerns, security breaches and unusual circumstances both verbally and in writing
  • Build, improve and maintain effective relationships with both client employees and guests
  • Answer questions and assist guests and employees
  • Answer phones or greet guests / employees in a professional, welcoming manner
Physical And Mental Functions
  • Stand or walk constantly (for up to an entire shift) on various surfaces (tile, concrete, carpet)
  • Climb stairs, ramps, or ladders occasionally during shift
  • Occasionally bend/twist at waist/knees/neck to perform various duties
  • Occasionally lift or carry up to 40 pounds
  • Run as needed
  • Constant use of both hands and arms in reaching/handling/grasping/fingering while using phone, notepad, writing reports, and other administrative tasks
  • Constant use of eyes (correctable vision to normal level required) to observe, read, interact with public and co-workers, view security monitors; includes hand/eye coordination
  • Work in various environments including adverse outdoor conditions such as cold, rain or heat;
  • Constant mental alertness and attention to detail required while setting priorities and following up on assignments
Qualifications/Requirements
Qualified applicants for the Professional Security Officer position will meet the minimum requirements, as described below:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Must possess effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with ability to deal with all levels of personnel and the general public in a professional and effective manner; must be able to use initiative and independent judgment within established guidelines
  • Must be able to frequently prepare written reports and logs in neat, legible handwriting; may require computer skills
  • Must be able to read and understand all operating procedures and instructions
  • Must be able to obtain a valid Guard License as required in the state for which you are applying
  • As a condition of employment, employee must successfully complete a background investigation and a post-offer/pre-employment drug/alcohol test
  • As a condition of continued employment, employee must maintain current active status of all required License at all times, and must carry the license at all times while on duty
  • Must display exceptional customer service and communication skills
  • Remain flexible to ever changing environments; adapt well to different situations
  • Intermediate computer skills to utilize innovative, wireless technology at client specific sites
  • Ability to maintain satisfactory attendance and punctuality standard;
  • Neat and professional appearance
  • Ability to provide quality customer service
  • Ability to handle both common and crisis situations at the client site, calmly and efficiently
  • Read, understand and clearly speak English; constantly use speech and hearing (correctable to normal level required) in communicating with public/co-workers, giving and receiving instructions, using phones
  • Must be able to handle pressure of working with high volume general public (constantly to occasionally depending on assignment)

Position Summary:
Conducts surveillance and apprehension of external theft suspects in compliance with Company Ethical Standards and Apprehension Guidelines. Monitors customer and associate activity in the store to prevent potential theft of Company assets. Assists in monitoring store compliance with Company policies and procedures on theft deterrence, safety, and operational controls. Implements and promotes store awareness programs addressing theft, safety, and operational controls.
Primary Responsibilities
Internal and External Theft Deterrence & Awareness
  • Monitors customer and associate activities in the store for potential theft of Company assets. Takes appropriate action to prevent theft; apprehends individuals engaged in theft activity when prevention is not effective.
  • Conducts surveillance and apprehension of external theft suspects in compliance with Company Ethical Standards and Apprehension Guidelines.
  • Assists in internal theft investigations in compliance with Company Ethical Standards and Apprehension Guidelines.
  • Accurately completes all statistical and incident reports. Maintains all apprehension and investigation records according to company standards.
  • Develops and maintains knowledge and use of CCTV surveillance equipment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned. Examples may include, but are not limited to: assisting in Loss Prevention activities in other stores; attending court hearings on Kohl’s behalf; collecting public record information from local law enforcement agencies. assisting in the preparation and taking of inventory, USA counts, and processing known theft markdowns.
Operational, Shortage, and Safety Controls & Awareness
  • Assists in monitoring store compliance with Company policies and procedures relating to theft deterrence, safety, and operational controls, as assigned by Supervisor. Informs Supervisor and Store Management of shortage control opportunities.
  • Participates in raising awareness to shortage control and loss prevention programs through implementation of and participation in Shortage Control and Safety Meetings, new hire orientation for associates, and regular touchbases with store associates.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of the store’s alarm system and EAS system.
  • Performs other duties as assigned. Examples may include assisting in the preparation and taking of inventory, USA counts, and processing known theft markdowns
General Requirements
  • Adheres to Company policies and procedures and maintains high ethical standards
  • Maintains attendance and dress code according to Company standards
  • Engages in effective dialogue with LP Supervisor, DLPM, and Store Management team.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience in Loss Prevention or educational background in Loss Prevention, security, or law enforcement preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to make decisions in stressful situations. Strong verbal and written communication skills; basic math and reading skills, and legible handwriting.
  • Ability to spend up to 100% of working time moving around the store, including stock storage areas, office areas, and the selling floor. Physical activities include bending, stooping, lifting, climbing, standing, and reaching on a frequent basis. Associate must be capable of detaining theft suspects.

JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The following sets forth the primary responsibilities of this job, but is not an exhaustive list. The Bank, through its managers and supervisors, reserves the right to assign any additional duties necessary to meet the needs of our clients, associates and/or shareholders.
  • Deliver the Client Experience by providing excellent client service with each client and associate interaction.
  • Actively pursue small business clients for the bank. Provide a full range of business banking services to clients with an emphasis on loan and deposit business products, with a goal of earning 100% of the client’s business.
  • Actively cross sells loans and cash management products to small businesses. Work with other departments in the bank as necessary to provide clients a full array of loan and deposit products.
  • Provide financial advice and counsel to small business clients on credit structure and treasury management products, working with other departments within the bank as necessary.
  • Achieve specific quarterly and annual sales and service goals for the Small Business Specialist role.
  • Work and counsel the client in all aspects of the loan process, from the initial meetings to loan closing. Provide an excellent client experience throughout the entire process.
  • Proactively call on existing and potential clients. Develop and maintain relationships with business partners to maximize sales opportunities and achieve sales standards.
  • Establish a referral network & build relationships within an established COI network; meet and exceed assigned sales goals; conduct market industry research for market trends that impact clients business and spot opportunities to provide financial services.
  • Work closely with the Banking Center Manager to assist in growing loans and deposits for the banking center in a safe and sound manner.
  • Provide service, training and support to banking center staff to assist in meeting sales goals and servicing the client.
  • Work closely with Small Business Manager, Treasury Management and Commercial Relationship Managers to support delivery of a full range of loan and deposit products to large businesses in the market area.
  • Is active in the immediate community, serving on community boards and attending community functions as time permits.
  • Protect all client and bank information, and follow Customer Privacy and Information Policy & Procedure for communication with clients, vendors and associates.
  • Responsible for adherence to bank’s operational compliance and security policies and applicable state and federal laws.
  • Maintain current knowledge and consistent compliance with regulations and bank policies and procedures related to the position, including but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) requirements.
  • Interact with others (co-workers, management, clients, and vendors) in a professional and tactful manner including treating them with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position.
Requirements
EDUCATIONAL KNOWLEDGE AND/OR PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
Required: This position requires the following educational and/or job experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administrations or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of successful small business lending.
  • Minimum 5 years banking experience.
Preferred
  • Master’s degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years of successful small business lending.
  • Minimum 7 years of banking experience.
  • Completion of a bank training or formal credit training program.
  • Proficient in SalesForce.com
