  • This position supports the Maneuver Battle Lab (MBL) Experiment Environments Branch (EEB).
  • The candidate selected will serve as the Mission Command SME for the Branch and must have a thorough understanding of the Army Mission Command System, the systems that comprise it, and the supporting architecture at each level of command.
  • Candidate must be capable of assisting in the planning, development, and implementation of a comprehensive simulation experimentation plan to ensure successful execution of major concept development simulation experiments assigned to the Branch.
  • This includes development of Mission Command and Communications training plans, Experimental Unit Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Order of Battle Books and Experiment Training Plans.
  • The candidate serves as the Mission Command Doctrinal Lead and Mission Command and Communications Design Lead.
  • The candidate will be required to coordinate with various staff members of the Maneuver Center of Excellence Directorates and organizations to ensure experiment objectives are synchronized and nested within the ARCIC Campaign Plan.
  • Candidate must be able to document insights and findings on the impact of emerging Mission Command and Communications technologies and tactical maneuver concepts applicable to support experimentation objectives.
  • Responsible for conducting After Action Reviews (AARs) and capturing observations, insights, and recommendations identified during the reviews.
  • Information is captured and stored electronically for historical purposes.
  • During experimentation events will supervise simulation Tactical Operations Center (TOCs) and serve in Experiment Control (EXCON) or Simulation Control Cells.
Qualifications
REQUIRED EDUCATION
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent and 6+ years of related experience.
Required Skills
  • Experienced writer with excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent reasoning skills.
  • Must be able to compose, write and conduct analysis of events that support the experimentation program.
  • Must have excellent computer skills and be proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and be customer oriented as well as have the ability to operate independently.
  • Knowledgeable with Combined Arms operations, doctrine, and weapons systems especially at Battalion and below.
Desired Skills
  • Military experience at the Field Grade level.
  • Former Battalion Commander.
  • Bde and Bn TF experienced with Combined Arms operations, doctrine, and training.
  • Experienced with the employment of Infantry and Armor weapons systems at Battalion level and below.

The Defense & Intelligence Group has a current opening for an Administrative Staff Officer located at our Customer Site in Springfield area.
Job Description: Successful candidate will provide administrative functions supporting senior level Customers (Director/Deputy Director). This position provides administrative and technical support as tasked, to include: filing; answering phone; maintenance of schedules/calendars for senior personnel; maintaining organization charts and emergency contact information/recall rosters; establishing and maintaining hard-copy and electronic files; event/meeting coordination; generating weekly reports and create presentations; track/coordinate/monitor internal and external tasks; review/edit incoming and outgoing correspondence for accuracy, content and quality; coordinate and maintain travel plans, schedules and expense reports using DTS; assist in the review and update of standard operating procedures (SOPs). Will lead and perform on special projects, as required. Ensure timely delivery of products and services to meet master schedules and program milestones. Escort visitors and in specialized areas. Attend weekly organization staff and working group meetings; prepare and distribute meeting minutes. Familiarity with DoD and Intelligence Community (IC) regulations, directives and policies a plus. Familiarity with Defense Travel System (DTS) a plus.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's Degree with 7-10 experience in administrative field supporting executive operations. Additional experience in lieu of degree will be considered.
Required Skills: Experience supporting senior level leadership in a demanding environment. Requires attention to detail and being proactive. Strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills; excellent written/verbal communication; proficiency in technical editing, formatting and proofreading; must be proficient in computer office suites, e.g., MS Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Ability to successfully work with and adapt to personnel at all levels; deal with high visibility situations and work effectively under the pressure of rigid deadlines; excellent, demonstrated problem solving and innovation skills; work without direct supervision and possess excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Must be detail oriented with ability to multi-task.

Specific Tasks Include
The PAO shall assist the JIOFC in the planning and coordination of Public Affairs (PA) with all relevant organizations. Assistance shall include day-to-day actions with various points of contact for all GCCs, Joint Staff (JS), the Interagency (IA), partner nations (PN) and personnel within USSOCOM.
  • Provide support and expertise related to the development and synchronization of communication strategies, recommending PA priorities, objectives and themes for deliberate and contingency planning at the strategic and operational levels
  • Monitor regional issues and trends to provide situational awareness
  • Research and develop PA guidance and response to queries
  • Perform as SME for the JIOFC in working groups and planning teams to ensure PA is integrated in planning efforts
  • Develop PA Annexes for Campaign Plans, Operation Orders, and Contingency Plans
  • Assist in the development of concepts of operation (CONOPs)
  • Prepare reports, presentations and plans required for periodic updates

Must Have
  • Master's degree or higher from an accredited university in Communications, Public Affairs, Rhetoric, Policy or related field.
  • Defense Information School graduate awarded the 46 series qualifier
  • 10 years of experience in PA with duties including Joint, Interagency, Intergovernmental, and Multinational full spectrum planning experience
  • 5 years of experience developing command PA guidance and posture
  • 3 years of experience coordinating PA with IO
  • 3 years of experience working with a Combatant Command (COCOM), Theater Special Operations Command (TSOC) or equivalent level staff with duties including providing analyses, recommendations, and draft products to assist in the development of information papers, planning orders, Operational orders, analyses, estimates, and briefings for Command leadership and primary staff
  • 3 years of experience with duties involving the planning, coordination and deconfliction of DOD plans, operations, actions and activities * Current Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
