Description of Work
Salary Grade – 57 / Salary Range - $25,381.00 – 38,973.00
This is administrative work in the review and evaluation of appraisals of property in the acquisition of Highway Right of Way. Employees are responsible for reviewing all appraisal reports within a geographical area of the state and evaluating the completeness, accuracy and consistency of appraisals. Duties include assisting management in the evaluation of fee appraiser applications and periodically analyzing and rating fee appraisers quality of work, promptness of delivery and conformity of reports to departmental and appraisal contract standards. Work is guided by Federal and State laws, Agency policies and procedures and is performed under the general supervision of the Right of Way Appraiser.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies
Qualified applicants must submit an application that clearly reflects work experience that demonstrates the following:
- Experience working in a real estate appraisal or real estate office environment to include some familiarity with real estate terms.
- Experience with typing at least 35WPM accurately in order to prepare, maintain and deliver monthly reports/appraisal fee proposals/contracts/invoices/transmittals/ and transcriptions of appraisals.
- Experience with different computer applications to include Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Outlook email.
- Experience providing customer service for appraisers, attorneys, property owners, and the general public.
- Experience in composing correspondence and interpreting data to assure that State and Federal regulations have been adhered to.

Minimum Education And Experience Requirements
Graduation from high school and demonstrated possession of knowledge, skills, and abilities gained through at least one year of office assistant/secretarial experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
