The position is specifically designed to provide oversight of compliance with directives and guidance relating to Reusable Medical Equipment (RME) throughout West Texas Veterans Health Care System (WTVAHCS).
Work schedule: 8:00am - 4:30pm, 7:30am-4:00pm, 7:00am-3:30pm, 9:00am-5:30pm, 9:30am-6:00pm Monday through Friday and may vary depending on the hiring facility.

    Registration – Current, full, active and unrestricted registration as a graduate professional nurse in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico) of the U.S. or in the District of Columbia.     Educational Requirements Can Be Met As Follows
  • Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate State agency, and accredited by one of the following accrediting bodies at the time the program was completed: a) The National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC); or b) The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). OR
  • The completion of coursework equivalent to a nursing degree in a MSN Bridge Program that qualifies for professional nursing registration constitutes the completion of an approved course of study of professional nursing. OR
  • In cases of graduates of foreign schools of professional nursing, possession of current, full, active, and unrestricted registration, will meet the requirement of graduation from an approved school of professional nursing.
  • Sterile Processing Service Level 1 training program (OR completed within 90 days of hire).
  • Sterile Processing Service Level 2 training program (OR completed within 150 days of hire).
  • The Following Requirements Are Preferred For This Position
    A minimum of 1 year of recent operating room (OR) RN experience with 3 years OR RN experience preferred that is determined to be sustained and consistently at or above an acceptable level of quality. Certified Nurse, Operating Room (CNOR) is highly preferred. Familiar with SPS Directive 1116(2), Sterile Processing Services (SPS).
    Professional nursing experience should be documented on the Application for Employment – Nurse and Nurse Anesthetists (VA Form 10-2850a).
    GRADE DETERMINATIONS: Experience as a RN will be evaluated to determine if the experience is of an acceptable level of quality with regard to the following four dimensions of nursing: Practice, Professional Development, Collaboration and Scientific Inquiry. Each dimension of practice has criteria that demonstrate essential core competencies for VHA Nursing Personnel.

    Professional Development: Performance, education/career development;
    Collaboration: Collaboration, collegiality; scientific inquiry; quality of care, research.

    Nurse I, Level 1 - Associate Degree or Diploma in Nursing with no experience.
    Nurse I, Level II - ADN or Diploma in Nursing or ADN or Diploma in Nursing and Bachelors degree in a related field or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
    Nurse I, Level III - An ADN or Diploma in Nursing and approximately 2-3 years of experience, or an ADN or Diploma in Nursing and a bachelors degree in a related filed and approximately 2-3 years of experience; or a BSN with approximately 2-3 years of experience, or a Master's degree in nursing (MSN) or related field with a BSN and no experience.
    Nurse II - A BSN with approximately 2-3 years of experience, or ADN or Diploma in Nursing and a bachelors degree in a related field and approximately 2-3 years experience or a Master's degree in nursing or related field with a BSN and approximately 2-3 years experience, or a Doctoral degree in nursing or meets basic requirements for appointment and has doctoral degree in a related field with no experience.
    Nurse III - Master's degree in nursing or related field with BSN and approximately 2-3 years experience or Doctoral degree in nursing or related field and approximately 2-3 years experience.
    SALARY: Applicant's education and experience will be reviewed by a Professional Standards Board in determining the grade and salary of the applicant selected. The recommended salary may be at any point in the range listed for this vacancy.
    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This position requires visual acuity, keen hearing, clear distinctive speech, and manual dexterity. This position requires potentially long periods of continued walking, standing, stooping, sitting, bending, pulling and pushing.

Department: Credit Union - Lending

Responsibilities: Adequately and effectively provide for the credit related needs of members within the policy, objectives and goals established by credit union management through counseling and assisting members. Accesses members' financial histories from credit reporting agencies and assists members in making prudent credit decisions. Accept accountability for exercising prudence, skill and judgment in the extension of credit to members. Responsible for producing a high volume of good quality consumer loans to achieve a profitable return on member equity. Recommend procedures and policies to management, as needed, to ensure member service objectives are being achieved and to ensure the credit union's smooth and orderly operation. Provides advice and guidance to other personnel regarding lending objectives, policies and procedures within the scope of this position. Effectively cross-sell other credit union products.
Qualifications: A minimum of Bachelor's degree or equivalent of four to five years of financial institution experience with two years of actual lending experience required. Must have a high aptitude for figures and possess strong interpersonal skills. Knowledge of computers is required. Must possess excellent time management and organizational skills, able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously with a high degree of accuracy. Must be a self-starter, an excellent team player and exhibit a willingness and ability to serve the credit union members.
